What is Crowd Cow?
One simple question started Crowd Cow — where is my meat from? Answering that question has become an obsession and now customers can confidently purchase meat and seafood from the very best independent and sustainable sources with Crowd Cow’s flexible, completely customizable recurring shipments.
We exclusively offer beef, pork, chicken, seafood and wagyu from sources we know personally with the highest regenerative and ethical standards. Every product on Crowd Cow is raised without unnecessary antibiotics or any added hormones and is taste-tested by experts.
From product to packaging, we’re committed to sustainability. We use recyclable and compostable packaging, offset the carbon emissions of every order, and work with producers who care about the environment just as much as we do.
Every customer can choose a personalized and completely customizable recurring shipment. By default, your order will come monthly, but the frequency and products in each box are completely up to you!
Where does Crowd Cow source their products from?
We source the very best meat and seafood from all over the world and we personally know each producer we work with. Our producers range from independent family farms to co-ops working together across several regions, raising their animals in ways that benefit the land and surrounding environment.
We source with an incredibly high set of standards and our unique relationship with each producer ensures our customers get only the highest quality products. Every item you’ll find on Crowd Cow has been taste-tested by experts, is free of hormones and was raised without any unnecessary antibiotics
Is Crowd Cow good for farmers?
Yes! We provide an avenue for farmers and producers to bring their incredible meat to more people across the country — customers they otherwise wouldn’t be able to reach on their own. By handling the marketing, support and logistics, we help farmers focus on what they do best. Your purchase directly supports their livelihood and ensures they can continue raising and caring for their animals in ways that benefit the land and surrounding environment.
Do you sell grass-fed beef?
Yes! We offer both 100% grass-fed beef and pasture-raised beef
Is all of Crowd Cow seafood wild-caught?
We sell both wild-caught and farm-raised seafood from some of the most sustainable sources in the world. When done the right way, farmed fish can be a great complement to wild fisheries, supplement and support fishing livelihoods, and provide great-tasting, healthy seafood to people all over the world.
Does Crowd Cow sell Heritage Pork?
Yes! We offer heritage breed pork (Kurobuta, Berkshire, Duroc, and Duroc cross breeds) from several farms across the United States in addition to all natural pork.
What is truly pasture-raised chicken?
We offer both free-range and free-range organic chicken as well as truly-pasture raised chicken. Both are raised without unnecessary antibiotics or added growth hormones.
Truly pasture-raised chicken is a label reserved for chickens that primarily live outside and roam freely on grass pastures. These chickens have access to shelter but forage on natural grasses, seeds, bugs and grubs for the majority of their lives.Packed full of rich flavor and nutrients, these chickens are higher in omega-3s as well as vitamins A, D, and E, and lower in fat than most any other chicken.
Is Crowd Cow beef USDA graded?
All of our beef is sourced under USDA inspection; however, it is not USDA graded (Prime, Choice, Select, etc). For many of our farms, it doesn’t make sense to grade beef due to the size of their operation. Some of our products, like Japanese Wagyu, also use a different grading scale entirely. We stand by the quality of our products — whether it’s lean and healthy 100% grass-fed beef or supremely marbled American Pure Wagyu. At Crowd Cow, quality is so much more than a marbling grade. it’s about how the animals were raised, the farmer’s practices and standards, sustainability, flavor and everything in between.
